Be Prepared
The minute you arrive at the studio you have our full attention. We strive to ensure your experience is professional, fun and relaxing, and give you an excellent product whilst delivering value for money.
A vital part of a successful video production is for you to be fully prepared before you arrive. We have discussed the whole process with you, you have practiced your presentation, have all materials required and a clear vision of what the final product will look like.
Together we your make your video fabulous.
Prepare yourself
When creating your own video content, the most important word is practice! It’s so important that you should say it now in your head three times.
Have you written your script? Great. Read it out loud, many times. Record yourself reading it. Be mindful that written language is different to verbal language.
Workshop? Practice the whole thing from start to finish so you know you’ve got all the materials ready.
Now take the key points out as dot points and put the script away. You’ve got this, you know what to say so say it.
With feeling.
Your authenticity will come from how you deliver your information from your heart, not from a page.
Don’t worry about being ‘word perfect’ (unless very specific words are needed of course). The audience responds well to the odd word-stumble, which makes you a real person like them. The skill is in the recovery, just keep talking.
Practical things
Look through our work to see if there’s an example of the style of recording you would like.
Or send us links to two videos you love and want to emulate.
We’ll plan with you how the studio can look and the best props to use to get a feel for what you plan to portray.
We’ll talk background, foreground, multi-media, product placement, extra people, that type of thing.
Then we can talk about how long we think the whole thing might take and the quote.
Consider that editing generally takes three to four times the recording time unless you livestream. We’ll talk about that too.
We are commercially competitive and happily work to budgets but don’t price-cut, that’s a fast race to the bottom of the quality ladder. Go to Pricing to see examples and explanations.
In the studio
Your arrival time is an hour prior to recording time so you can settle in and set up your props.
You will have sent words if using the autocue. We’ll set that up and check the speed.
You’ll be wearing a radio lapel microphone and receiver. Please wear a top/shirt so the wires can be easily threaded. Dresses can be challenging but not impossible.
John is here to run the cameras, audio, lighting, recording and switching. As you can see from our previous work, he’s great at it. He’ll point out the camera sweet zones and make you look fabulous.
Robyn is here to settle you in, to coach, direct, support, question, answer and ensure continuity.
You are here to deliver great content, invest in your business and enjoy yourself.
Pre and post production
You supply any photos or other media to be included in the final production.
Do you need intro and outro clips?
Will music be included?
Editing can take up to three or four times the length of the recording time depending on these factors and how many takes you take to nail it.
We have your best interests at heart and our aim is to have you looking and sounding your best.
Trust yourself
It’s easy to be our harshest critic so consider this.
People who know you, love you just the way you look and sound, and because of who you are and what you do. That should be good enough for you too.
